Deichmann

Joint Venture Contracts recently completed a significant refurbishment project for Deichmann in Kingston Upon Thames. Having worked with Deichmann for over 22 years, we have developed a strong working relationship with the company, contributing to numerous store refits and refurbishments across the UK. This particular project involved transforming an old retail unit into a modern, functional space that meets the high standards of the Deichmann brand.

Retail Space Transformation In Kingston Upon Thames

This project required the full strip-out of two floors in an existing retail unit. We began by returning the space to its original shell, enabling us to rebuild according to Deichmann's specifications. The primary goal was to create two new sales floors – one on the ground floor and another on the first – designed to provide a seamless and enhanced shopping experience for customers whilst meeting operational requirements for the retailer.

Working closely with Deichmann, we constructed new walls and partitions to define the layout of the sales areas. Bespoke joinery was integrated to align with the company’s branding. Additionally, MF ceiling rafts were installed, and new flooring was laid throughout the unit, giving the space a cohesive, modern look consistent with Deichmann’s retail standards.

Upgrades & Finishing Touches

Beyond structural changes, we oversaw the installation of updated electrical and mechanical systems. This comprehensive upgrade ensured the unit was fully functional and compliant with the necessary regulations. The stock and staff areas also received significant attention, being refurbished to a high standard to support efficient operations and create a more comfortable working environment for staff.

The project concluded with a complete redecoration of the entire retail space, including the shopfront, which was designed to attract customers and reflect Deichmann’s aesthetic. The staircases were also updated with new materials, providing a smooth and professional transition between the two sales floors.

Looking Ahead

This successful project marks another milestone in our long-standing working relationship with Deichmann. As we approach the end of the year, our team at Joint Venture Contracts is preparing to refurbish other Deichmann units, making sure they are ready for the upcoming busy season.
